Al Hitmi thanks QOC, Aspire Academy for support

DOHA (QAT): The LOC chairman of 13th FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup Mr Ali Ahmed Al Hitmi thanked the Aspire Academy for their unstinted support in hosting this year’s event. 

A total of 26 countries have registered for the high-profile tournament. 

“We are thankful to the Aspire Academy and Aspire Zone for their support. We also thank the Qatar Olympic Committee and Ministry of Public Health for approving the competition,” said Mr Al Hitmi, who is also the Qatar Gymnastics Federation president.    

The LOC, which met here at the Aspire Academy on Sunday, exuded confidence on the preparations for this year’s competition that will be held at the Aspire Dome from June 23-26.

This was the second time the LOC members met to review the pre-tournament details after it received the green signal from the MOPH recently.   

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the host country will provide the required safeguards to protect the health and safety of all involved in the competition.

The World Cup was scheduled to be held at the Aspire Dome from March 10-13 after a gap of one year due Covid-19 pandemic, but was postponed until June.
