Carey signs off with double gold

DOHA: Jade Carey rounded off her campaign 12th FIG ART Individual Apparatus World Cup with a double after the American picked up second gold in as many days as the four-day competition concluded on Saturday.
“I’m really happy that I did well here,” Carey told www.dohagym.com.
Carey tallied 14.466 points with a difficulty of 6.2 to win the women’s floor title at the Aspire Dome. Italy’s Lara Mori (13.433) and Vanessa Ferrari (13.300) completed the podium.
For Carey, it was another strong step towards individual qualification for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games after her vault crown on Friday.
“I think it’s going pretty well so far,” she added on her chances of qualifying for next year’s Games.
The Olympic Qualification Ranking list will be established after the last competition of the 2018-2019 & 2019-2020 World Cup Series.
According to the Article 18 of Olympic Qualifications, the top-ranked gymnast on each apparatus at the end of the 2018-2019 & 2019-2020 series have the opportunity to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games. This place is nominative.
