Manukyan wins for Armenia on Pommel Horse

DOHA: Armenia’s Hamlet Manukyan delivered a masterclass on the Pommel Horse to secure the gold medal in the apparatus final here on Friday evening.

Manukyan’s routine stood out for its exceptional rhythm, difficulty, and flawless execution. With seamless transitions and impressive control, he earned top scores from the judges and claimed his place at the top of the podium, further establishing himself as a rising star in the discipline.

China’s Yanming Hong took the silver medal with a clean and technically sound performance, pushing Manukyan closely in a tight contest. Hong’s fluid movement and strong difficulty score showcased the depth of China’s gymnastics program.

The bronze medal went to Nariman Kurbanov of Kazakhstan, who impressed with a confident routine that blended strength and finesse. Kurbanov’s effort rounded off a highly competitive final featuring some of the best specialists in the world.
