DOHA: President of the Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF) Ali Al Hitmi exuded confidence of hosting yet another successful edition of Artistic Gymnastics World Cup.
The annual competition, which will be the 15th edition, will start at the Aspire Dome from March 1, 2023.
“Our goal is to present a version that is no less successful than the previous World Cups,” said Al Hitmi at a recently held meeting of its Local Organising Committee (LOC).
The LOC reviewed the preparations related to the championship and discussed ways to hot yet another unprecedented competition.
Male and female gymnasts from 43 countries are expected to take part in the annual event, which will be one of the qualifiers the 2023 FIG Artistic World Championships in Belgium.
“The organizing committee is working intensively in order to reach the maximum possible readiness to host the tournament in the best way,” added Al Hitmi, who is also a first vice-president at the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).
In order to reach maximum readiness to complete all arrangements related to the global event, regular visits by the QGF technical team are conducted.
During the meeting, it was also emphasized that the LOC would constantly communicate with the rest of the tournament committees, and inform them of all the details related to the continuous progress in the preparations and the date of arrival of the participating teams and delegates.
