Tang wins first medal of the day

24 March, 2017

Doha (QAT) March 24, 2017: Chinese Taipei’s Chia-Hung Tang had a great start to the FIG Artistic Individual Apparatus World Cup, winning the men’s floor exercise with 14.366 points at the Aspire Dome in Doha on Friday.
The 20-year-old had a good landing and pushed behind Kazakhstan’s 17-year-old Milad Karimi to second while  Romanian veteran Marian Dragulescu had to be content with bronze (14.100).
Karimi had a confident beginning, with some acrobatic movements on the floor.
However, Chia-Hung had the last laugh, piping his nearest rivals to the day’s first gold.
Armenia’s Artur Davytan, a familiar face in Doha, came fourth with 13.933.
Japan’s Kilchi Takenaka (13.700), Switzerland’s Pablo Braegger (13.366) and Turkey’s Arican Ferhat (12.900) finished fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.
