Teams arrive to participate in 2nd Artistic World Gymnastics World Cup

Doha Teams have begun arriving in right earnest to participate in the second Artistic World Gymnastics which is set to take place at the Aspire Academy from September 28-30. The participating gymnasts are expected to hit the training arena on Saturday and Sunday to get a measure and grip of the equipments, which are going to be used for this three-day event.

 

The main podium training is scheduled to take place between 2pm and 7.30pm on Sunday.

 

On Friday, the process to convert the indoor athletic track at Aspire to main venue of the gymnastics event was almost over with the installation of various equipments. The president of Qatar Gymnastics Federation Ali Ahmed al Hitmi was also present during the installation of all equipments to get a first-hand look of final stages of the preparation process.

 

He appreciated the work of all those who were involved to make this event a grand success.

 

An informal seminar, which was attended by committee presidents and members who are associated with this event also took place on Friday. The competition manager Mohd al Naimi and venue manager Anis Saoud informed all those present at the seminar that the access to main venue will be through electronic entrance, which will be supported by a barcode system.

 

Members of organising committee were also briefed about the various stages of the preparation related to the event. 76 Male and 22 female gymnasts from 24 nations are scheduled to take part in this world-class event.
