DOHA: Armenia’s Artur Davtyan delivered a spectacular performance to claim gold in the men’s vault final at the 17th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, solidifying his status as one of the premier vaulters on the international stage.
At the 2022 World Championships in Liverpool, England, Artur became the first Armenian to win a World title.
Davtyan, who finished third in the qualifiers, impressed judges and fans with two clean, high-difficulty vaults that earned him top marks and the coveted gold medal with 14.449 points.
The 32-year-old won a bronze in vault at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to clinch Armenia’s first Olympic medal in artistic gymnastics. He followed it up with a silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
His consistency and control under pressure once again proved why he remains a formidable force in the discipline.
Ukraine’s Nazar Chepurnyi and Turkiye’s Emirhan Kartin completed the podium finish.
