DOHA (Qatar): Ukraine’s Diana Varinska fought back strongly to win the women’s balance beam gold here at the 13th Artistic Gymnastics World Cup here on Saturday.
The Ukrainian improved her fourth-place finish in the qualifiers to outwit Hungary’s Zsofia Kovacs, who had topped the qualification.
Varinska collected 13.200 points which was marginally less than Kovacs (13.166) yet it was a sweet victory for the 2019 European Games all-around and balance beam bronze medalist.
Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade (13.166) finished third.
